The local Church: Hope for the future!

John 19:30 “When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, ‘It is finished!’ And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.”

That is the hope we have and want to share with a desperate world. Jesus has finished the work!

But what exactly is finished? On the cross, Jesus exchanged three things:

– Our sins for His righteousness, Romans 3:21-24 “But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”

– Our poverty for His prosperity, 2 Corinthians 8:9 “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.”

– Our sickness for His healing, 1 Peter 2:24 “He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed.”

Faith begins with hope. The local church is potentially the most powerful force on earth. The Church was given by God to be a place of redemption, freedom, healing, and restoration… a place where people love each other despite their flaws and can truly find happiness. Our God is a God of hope… with Him, nothing is impossible!

What do we believe?

God is greater, better, and closer than we can imagine.
The Bible is God’s perfect guide for life.
Jesus is God revealing Himself to us.
Through the Holy Spirit, God lives in us and works through us.
Nothing in the universe exists by accident—God created it all.
We humans do many things against God’s will. This is called “sin,” and because of it, we cannot come close to God.
But because God desires a relationship with us, Jesus took our punishment by voluntarily dying for us. That makes it possible for us to come close to God again.
God promises us eternal life if we believe in Jesus. The choice is ours.
Heaven and hell are real places. Our choice determines our destination.
The church’s mission is to serve people just as Jesus did.
